I was reading an article on Wall Street Journal about Steve Jobs. It was a wonderful article taken by Ralph at the time of the starting phase of Apple.

It was the time of change. If anyone is familiar with the history of the computer world, they must know the era of changing. When companies like Microsoft and Apple started and changed the rules of the game. They changed the way of thinking that computers should be big and for corporate work only. Computers should be good at calculation only, that black screen just calculating and giving desired output to management. People in the industry wearing suits and showing standards.

Then hippy-like guys arrived, who broke all the rules and drove the world to a new future. Right now I want to talk about Steve Jobs, who just left us, leaving behind a legacy of change and revolution.

Every paragraph of the article just shows the attitude of Steve—a never say never attitude, a non-compromising mentality. Courage to take risk, and most importantly, confidence in his own self.

This thing is completely opposite to Indian mentality, where we learn to compromise from the start. Every time we are forced to change ourselves as per society. Many of us just do something for the sake of doing. Earning money is more important than earning credit. Confidence is just a short-term certificate which we get at college as a college result.

I am not saying I am different. But I can say I am trying to be different. And one of the persons behind this is Steve Jobs. I know about him from my college days, but started understanding him after college. Whenever I feel down and out, I hear him or read him, which always motivates me to move on.

He is a person with still nerve. No matter what it takes, he will achieve what he wants. I have never seen a person like him. He is the gem of the crown of Silicon Valley. It's not only that he did it for himself, but he inspired people like Mark who created Facebook, Bill Gates of Microsoft, and others.

It's not that he hadn't faced downfall—everyone does in a lifetime—but how he reacts is what really matters. I personally recommend that everyone directly or indirectly related to the computer industry must watch the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley and go through his life. Also, you can find videos of him on YouTube.
